Playing trivia alone on your phone is easy. Playing trivia together—at the same time, with real people, across time zones—is harder and more fun. That’s where a live trivia night works best.

Every Thursday, Trivia Thursdays takes over the Game Arena in Decentraland, a shared, social space where people gather to play fast-paced, pub-quiz–style trivia together, chat in real time, and meet new faces along the way.

Each session runs twice, at 2pm UTC and 8pm UTC, making it easy to join from different parts of the world.

This six-week test series is for people who enjoy showing up, playing something light together, and easing into social interaction.

How Does Trivia Thursdays Work?

There are no prizes and no season-long rankings. Each session stands on its own.

At the end of a game, a leaderboard pops up just for fun, showing a quick snapshot of who made it to the top of that game. The board resets after each match, ensuring the focus stays on the shared experience, not long-term competition.

Each session features:

Fast-paced, pub quiz–style questions—short rounds, mixed topics, and questions designed to spark reactions rather than stump you
Live multiplayer gameplay with everyone playing at the same time
Text chat open throughout, so you can react, joke, or comment as you go
A rotating weekly theme to keep things feeling fresh

Each game supports up to 20 active players at a time. If a round fills up, you can join as a spectator and jump into the next one. Players cycle in and out throughout the session, so there’s usually a chance to play.

You can come with friends or show up on your own. Conversations tend to spark naturally between questions, reactions, and the occasional splash in the water!

How to Play Trivia Online Together in Decentraland

Joining Trivia Thursdays is intentionally simple.

1. Download Decentraland First-time visitors need to download the Decentraland desktop app. Returning players can jump straight in.

2. Head to the Game Arena When you first open Decentraland, you’ll land in Genesis Plaza. Walk towards the firepit and then you’ll see the Game Arena on the right.

3. Arrive before 2pm or 8pm UTC Games start on time, so arriving a few minutes early helps you get settled.

4. Play, chat, and react in real time Answer questions, watch how others respond, and chat freely during the session.

5. Leave anytime—or hang back afterward Some people stick around to chat. Others head off right after a round ends.

Why Live Trivia Works for Groups and Remote Friends

Most trivia apps focus on solo play or async competition. Trivia Thursday leans in the opposite direction.

You’re playing at the same time, in the same space, with everyone else. That’s what makes it feel closer to a real trivia night—shared reactions, inside jokes, and those moments where everyone’s confused together.
