Watch Movies Together Online — A Weekly Watch Party In Decentraland
By Decentraland, , in Announcements

Watching a movie alone at home is easy. Watching a movie together, when friends are spread across cities or time zones, is harder. That’s where a watch party online works best.
Every Wednesday, Decentraland hosts a recurring watch party inside its Theatre—a shared, social space where people gather to watch films together and experience a curated program that feels closer to a small film festival than a streaming queue.
Each film screens twice every Wednesday, at 2pm UTC and again at 8pm UTC, making it easier to join from different time zones.

A Film Festival–Style Watch Party Series
All screenings take place Wednesdays at 2pm UTC and 8pm UTC, inside the Theatre, over six consecutive weeks.
Every great documentary starts by asking us to look closer. This season brings six stories that challenge how we see ourselves and the world.
Why do we preserve memories? What does recovery look like? Can science cure the impossible? Who shapes the future of artificial intelligence? What does it take to make a living as an artist? And can happiness be designed?
Through six award-winning documentaries, we'll journey across art, science, technology, mental health, and personal transformation, uncovering the stories that reveal what connects us — and what makes us human.

July 22 — THE ARC OF OBLIVION
98 minutes | English Why are humans so determined to leave a mark in a universe that constantly erases its own history? Blending stunning cinematography, stop-motion animation, and conversations with artists, scientists, and filmmakers, including Werner Herzog and Kirsten Johnson - THE ARC OF OBLIVION is a playful and thought-provoking exploration of archives, memory, and our enduring desire to preserve the stories that define us.
July 29 — I AM MARIS
52 minutes | English An intimate and deeply hopeful portrait of recovery, I AM MARIS follows a young woman whose journey through anxiety, depression, and an eating disorder leads her toward healing through yoga and self-discovery. Compassionate and uplifting, the film offers a refreshing perspective on mental health, resilience, and the strength found in vulnerability.
August 5 — THE HUMAN TRIAL
91 minutes | English For more than a decade, filmmakers followed scientists searching for a cure for type 1 diabetes alongside the patients brave enough to join an experimental clinical trial. Both emotionally powerful and scientifically compelling, THE HUMAN TRIAL explores the sacrifices, setbacks, and hope behind medical innovation and the people willing to risk everything for the chance to change lives.
August 12 — IHUMAN
99 minutes | English Artificial intelligence is transforming our world faster than ever, but who decides where it's taking us? With rare access to AI pioneers and industry leaders, IHUMAN explores the promises, risks, and ethical questions surrounding one of the most powerful technologies of our time. A timely and thought-provoking documentary, it examines how AI is reshaping society, power, and what it means to be human.
August 19 — THE ART OF MAKING IT
94 minutes | English What does it really take to build a life as an artist? Following emerging creatives as they navigate ambition, recognition, and financial uncertainty, THE ART OF MAKING IT reveals the hidden forces that shape success in the contemporary art world. Both a critique of the systems that determine whose work gets seen and a celebration of those who keep creating anyway, it's an inspiring look at the value of artistic perseverance.
August 26 — THE HAPPY FILM
93 minutes | English Can happiness be designed? Renowned graphic designer Stefan Sagmeister turns himself into his most ambitious creative project, experimenting with therapy, meditation, medication, and lifestyle changes in search of a happier life. Funny, honest, and visually inventive, THE HAPPY FILM blends design, psychology, and personal storytelling into a thoughtful exploration of what it really means to live well.
