Ultimate Guide to the Festive Trail 2025

Every day across the festive season, the Festive Trail brings something new to enjoy with friends in Decentraland. This three-week celebration is built for quick fun, instant connection, and moments you will want to share. Running from Dec 16 to Jan 6, new surprises appear in Genesis Plaza each day in the form of either a free Wearable from the gift drone or a new experience you can jump into from the main square. As the season unfolds, you’ll find reasons to revisit, explore what has opened, and enjoy something fun whenever you have a spare moment.
How the Festive Trail Works
Created Through October’s Community Calls
Designers and builders were invited to submit ideas that felt like gifts to the community. Selected concepts received support and a place in this year’s Trail.
Daily Surprises in Genesis Plaza
From opening day on Dec 16 through Jan 6, something new unlocks each day. Look for the gift boxes dropped in Genesis Plaza or check the Jump In board in the main square to see that day’s surprise.
Easy to Jump Into
Every experience includes a simple ‘what to do’ prompt and one clear interaction so you can start playing right away. Wearable drops are always free and easy to collect.
Plenty of Reasons to Come Back
Surprises appear daily—Wearables one day, new experiences the next—turning the season into a steady stream of moments to check in, explore, and share.
The Festive Trail Timeline
Dec 16 — First Drop
The season begins in the Decentraland's Genesis Plaza when 22 gift boxes appear at 9am UTC. Only one gift box opens each day. Can you find the very first gift?
Dec 16–22 — Daily Community Wearables
Seven days of free Wearables, each designed by a community creator. Each one appears in a gift box hidden across Genesis Plaza as that day’s collectible surprise.
Dec 22–Jan 6 — Surprise Daily Gifts
From here, the Trail unwraps its next layer of magic. Each weekday reveals a new Decentraland experience, waiting for you and your friends to explore. While weekends surprise with heritage Wearables from favourite festive collections and some special new social surprises to collect and enjoy.

Here are all 10 experiences you will encounter throughout the Festive Trail. Each one becomes available on its assigned day once the Events board reveals it.
Giftspire
Race your friends up the enchanted Giftspire, hopping across floating presents to snag a festive reward at the top and share the win together.

Grab your friends for Runestone Run, a gorgeous Viking parkour playground where you can flex your moves, hype each other up, and keep coming back for one more try as the runes light your way.

Greeting Card Selfie Studio
Join friends to snap a magical snow globe or champagne party shot in minutes, then share it as your festive card and get reshared by Decentraland.

A fast breakfast-themed showdown where you and your friends sink butter fleets with syrup splashes in quick just-one-more-round matches that are instantly fun to play or watch.

Your instant fashion fantasy runway where you and your friends climb into glam mode in seconds, strut for laughs and glory, and leave with a clip that screams iconic.

Hatch a glowing Holo-Pet, choose your companion, and keep coming back to care for it as it grows, unlocks new reactions, and gives you cute new moments to screenshot and share.
