Several years ago, at the beginning of last month, Decentraland announced the Wearables Initiative. Created to assist with the development of wearables in Decentraland, the initiative is set up in two stages.

In Stage 1, five teams from the community that showed a high level of involvement and performance in previous contests and programs, were tasked with creating a collection of wearables.

The Summer Collection Fashion Show is where Decentralanders get to see the fruits of their labours. Better still, the wearables will be on sale after the show!

The five licensed teams will each present their collections – with 100 wearables per collection, placing them firmly in the Legendary class – at a classic catwalk fashion show in Crypto Valley.

Ready to wear

In Stage 2, the team will mentor other creators when the Wearables Initiative is opened to the entire community. This is dependent on the smooth operation of the tool used to create wearables in-world and establishment of an ideal workflow.

Creators will be able to submit proposals to be voted on by the community. Chosen designs will be put into development before being technically validated, minted and launched.

A celebration of the rich creativity in Decentraland as well as the kick off to a fantastic new feature in the metaverse, the Summer Collection Fashion Show is an event not to be missed.
