DCL Regenesis Labs Hackathon: Bring Your Vibe

DCL Regenesis Labs is hosting its first-ever hackathon: Bring Your Vibe. From October 13 to November 9, creators from all backgrounds are invited to build in Decentraland Worlds using AI-assisted workflows and vibe coding (providing AI with natural language prompts to generate functional code). With more than $7,500 USD in prizes, exclusive rewards for participants, and the support of the Decentraland Foundation, this hackathon is about lowering barriers, onboarding new creators, and celebrating creativity in true Decentraland style. And since it’s Halloween season, expect plenty of spooky, eerie, and scary themes along the way.

Lowering the Barriers to Creation

Building in the metaverse has always required a unique combination of skills: coding, 3D modeling, interactive design, and storytelling. It’s not just about writing scripts or sculpting assets, it’s about weaving artistry and technology together into immersive experiences that others can explore and share.

For many, those requirements have felt like a wall. But with AI-assisted tools and the growing culture of vibe coding, that wall is coming down. Vibe coding prioritizes the creative flow—the mood, the energy, the vibe—while assisted coding and modeling tools help handle the technical details. The result? More people than ever can turn their ideas into interactive Worlds in Decentraland.

One of the objectives of Regenesis Labs is to unlock creative potential and onboard the next generation of Decentraland builders. This hackathon is an invitation to experiment, to share, and to push the boundaries of what building in the metaverse can look like.

What’s Happening?

The Bring Your Vibe Hackathon marks the first major community initiative from DCL Regenesis Labs. From October 13 to November 9, participants will get hands-on support through workshops, guides, and community events designed to make building in Decentraland Worlds easier than ever. 

The focus is not on perfection, but on expression. This is your chance to turn your vibe into a World, and share your creative journey with others.

Who Can Join?

This hackathon is open to everyone:

  • New to Decentraland? This is the perfect opportunity to build your very first World.

  • Already part of the community? Try vibe coding for the first time and learn alongside peers.

  • Experienced builder? Push creative boundaries, showcase advanced skills, and inspire others.

Rewards

Total prize pool: $7,500 USD in MANA*

  • 1st place - $3,000$

  • 2nd place - $2,000$

  • 3rd place - $1,000$

    • Bonus prizes:

      • Most Creative AI Use ($500)

      • Beginner Spotlight ($500)

      • Outstanding Social Media Content ($500)

  • Exclusive Emote and Wearable for all participants

  • Challenges for non-builders

*All MANA to USD exchanges will be taken from the closing MANA value of November 9, 2025. Payments will be made in MANA so an Ethereum wallet address is required.

Ready To Build?

Pre-registration opens on DoraHacks on October 10 (6 PM UTC).

From October 13–15, the Hackathon kicks off with an official AMA and preparation workshop, leading into the Build Phase, which begins on October 15.

After building wraps up on October 27, the Judging Phase runs until November 8, with winners announced during the Award Ceremony on November 9.
