Save the date — from April 9-12, Metaverse Fashion Week (MVFW) returns to Decentraland for its third edition. Embracing this year’s theme, “Infinite Identities”, MVFW will highlight the power of digital avatars as hyper-personalized canvases for self-expression. Expect a fusion of digital Wearables, runways, showrooms and interactive experiences to bring a bold new perspective on digital fashion for transformation, culture, and change.
Since its inception in 2022, MVFW has been at the forefront of blending fashion, technology, and digital culture, featuring leading global designers and cutting-edge creators. Previous MVFW exhibitors include Coach, D&G, Adidas and Tommy Hilfiger. After a year-long hiatus, MVFW returns after the launch of Decentraland’s all-new desktop client, offering enhanced performance and new features. Decentraland is a more immersive social virtual world than ever, allowing digital fashion to reach new levels of interactivity and creative freedom.
MVFW 2025 will feature:
Runway Shows & Live Catwalks: A fusion of digital-first and physical-first brands showcasing the evolving relationship between online and offline fashion. MVFW 2025 also will feature new live catwalks that explore how Wearables shape identity, culture, and self-expression in digital spaces.
Virtual Showrooms: Spotlighting the designers and digital communities using fashion to challenge norms, reclaim representation, and navigate real-world barriers to creative freedom.
The MVFW Prize - “The Banners We Wear”: The first-of-its-kind competition invites students and recent graduates to transform virtual fashion into a statement of identity, resilience, and hope. Designers will create Wearable banners as bold declarations of self-expression in a time when personal freedoms are increasingly under threat. Winning designs will be minted as Decentraland Wearables, showcased on the MVFW main runway, and supported by a $15,000 prize pool.
Wearables Around the World: A community-focused showcase and catwalk, where you can win prizes by sharing your cultural heritage.
Fashion Student or Emerging designer? Enter The MVFW Prize
The MVFW Prize is the first award of its kind at Metaverse Fashion Week. Dedicated to expanding the role of digital fashion in communication and self-expression, the prize is free to enter and open to students and emerging designers. First prize is $10,000 USD awarded in MANA**, with two runner-up prizes of $2,500.
The MVFW Prize Theme 2025
The 2025 prize theme, The Banners We Wear, challenges designers to turn virtual fashion into a powerful statement of identity, resilience, and hope. Participants are invited to design wearable banners — visual declarations of their beliefs, struggles, and aspirations. In a world where personal freedoms are increasingly challenged, third spaces like Decentraland offer an important canvas for liberation. Digital fashion can be an important medium for storytelling, connection, and change.
The Prizes
Winner: $10,000 USD in MANA**
Two Runners-Up: $2,500 USD each in MANA**
Their designs will be transformed into Decentraland Wearables and debut on the main runway at Metaverse Fashion Week, Wednesday April 9 through Saturday April 12th 2025.

3D Creator? Propose a new experience exploring Infinite Identities
Calling all visionary creators to design 3D experiences that celebrate Infinite Identities in virtual fashion. How does digital fashion redefine self-expression? How can avatars become living, breathing works of art? We want to see experiences that push boundaries, break norms, and reimagine identity in a world without limits. Two selected proposals will receive:
$2,000 USD in MANA to develop their experience.
A 2x2 plot of LAND in the MVFW Main Plaza for the duration of the event and three months afterward. This is 32m x 32m of virtual space.
Inclusion in the official MVFW 2025 program, with promotional support across Decentraland’s channels.

Love Wearables? Enter the Wearables Around The World Showcase
Fashion transcends borders in the virtual world, and this year, Decentraland will honor that global spirit with the Wearables from Around the World: Catwalk & Showcase. From traditional influences reimagined in digital form to bold, futuristic statements that defy convention, this is your chance to showcase how fashion transcends geography.
The Decentraland Foundation will reimburse the submission fees of all Wearables created for the event, within the limit of one Wearable per community member. In addition, ten entries will be shortlisted for the Community Choice Award – the Decentraland community will award a top prize of $1000 USD to be paid in MANA, with two runners up each taking home $250 USD in MANA. All ten shortlisted designers will be invited to talk about their Wearables during the live stream of the Wearables Around the World catwalk.
How to Enter Wearables Around the World
Create a Wearable inspired by the culture, fashion or folklore of your own geographic heritage or current physical home. What are the stories or traditions from your region that a Wearable could help you to share? You could take inspiration from some of the great cultural Wearables already available on the Decentraland Marketplace like the Kitsune Mask Wearable by Kllane or the Andean Chullo Hat by Rhagde.

1. Sun, March 9: Mint your Wearable on the Decentraland Marketplace before this date. 2. Wed, March 12: Complete this form to submit your entry and reclaim your submission fee. 3. Mon, March 17: The ten shortlisted entries for the Community Choice Award are announced. 4. Thurs, April 10: Join the live MVFW catwalk for all submitted Wearables at 5pm UTC / 1pm EDT. Voting will open for the Community Choice Award in Discord. 5. Mon, April 14: Voting closes and the award winners are announced. Good luck!
