From May 21–22, Decentraland invites you to the first-ever Decentraland Prom & Pride PJ Party. This two-day virtual celebration embraces the freedom to show up exactly as you are, whether that means cozying up in rainbow pajamas or turning heads in a prom look that’s uniquely yours. Hot on the heels of Metaverse Fashion Week 2025, where avatars turned the runway into a canvas of culture, resistance, and style, these events celebrate connection, creativity, and self-expression.
The Pride PJ Party kicks things off with cozy slumber party vibes, storytelling, and community film screenings. Then, the energy rises for Decentraland Prom, a night of glowing dancefloors, “promposals,” and memories waiting to be made. Whether you're dancing in a sparkling tux, a shimmering gown, or something far less traditional (yes, your glow-up alien suit), come and join the party.
Pride PJ Party | May 21, 2025
Come as you are—and come cozy. Pride PJ Party welcomes you into a world of colorful Emotes, cinematic moments, and soft, slumber party energy. Settle in for a night of connection through storytelling, with an inspiring LGBTQ+ documentary screening plus a curated lineup of community-submitted short films exploring themes of identity, resilience, and love. Want to share your story? Submit a short film (under 10 minutes) by Thursday, May 8, 2025. Longer documentaries can be submitted via trailer for a full feature slot.
Decentraland Prom | May 22, 2025
Decentraland Prom invites you to make an entrance, slow dance under virtual stars, and capture the magic across social channels. Here's what to expect:
Promposals: Creative, playful, or heartfelt invitations to prom shared across DMs and socials.
Wearables Competition: A community contest for prom-inspired Wearables—think gowns, suits, corsages, and statement pieces that redefine prom fashion.
Prom Looks Runway: A curated showcase of standout Wearables from the competition.
Prom Arrivals Photoshoot: Capture your own best shots at the event with your date and share them on social media. Don’t forget to tag @Decentraland on X so the community can celebrate your looks in real-time!
Slow Dances: A new Slow Dance Emote will be released at Prom and available for everyone to claim.
Live DJ Set: To keep the energy high, DJs will perform live during the event, spinning tracks to keep energy high. Get those dance emotes ready and stay tuned for the line up!

Marketplace Credits
In the lead-up to Decentraland Prom, there’s an opportunity to get your avatar ready for the big night with Marketplace Credits. Earn them by completing tasks in-world, then redeem them on Wearables in the Marketplace to complete your look. (More details on this coming very soon!)
Prom Wearables Contest
To celebrate Decentraland Prom, new and seasoned creators are invited to design original Wearables that capture the spirit of the night. Think statement pieces, avatar-first fashion, or an outfit that tells your story. Whether it’s sparkling glam, pixel-perfect tuxes, or something wild and wonderful, this is your moment to shine!
Theme
This year’s theme, Prom in a Digital Age, invites designers to reimagine the timeless tradition of prom through the lens of digital fashion. More than just gowns and tuxedos, this is a celebration of creativity, self-expression, and belonging. From flowing dresses and sharp suits to corsages, crowns, and avant-garde accessories, designers are encouraged to push boundaries and redefine what prom looks like in the virtual world.
Requirements
Your Wearable MUST be: 1) approved by the Curation Committee and published in the Marketplace by the contest deadline; 2) related to the Prom in a Digital Age theme; 3) must include the "Prom" tag in the Marketplace.
Prizes
Selected designs will be featured during the official Decentraland Prom event and celebrated across Decentraland’s social channels.
A total of 7,500 MANA will be distributed among the winning submissions*:
1st Place: 2,500 MANA
2nd Place: 2,000 MANA
3rd Place: 1,500 MANA
4th Place: 1,000 MANA
5th Place: 500 MANA
Special Perk
To lower the entry barrier for new creators, each contest participant will be reimbursed the $100 USD publishing fee in MANA* for their first contest submission.

How to Enter
Design a prom-themed Wearable in Mythic or higher quantity (no 1:1s).
Submit your Wearable to the Curation Committee for approval via the Decentraland Marketplace.
Ensure your Wearable is approved and published in the Marketplace by May 17 11:59 pm UTC. Approval can take up to a few days so try to submit as early as you can.
Complete the official Contest Submission Form by May 17 11:59 pm UTC to be eligible.
Contest Guidelines
Theme & Rarity Requirements: Submissions must align with the contest theme and be of Mythic or higher quantity (no 1:1s).
One Prize Per Creator: Each individual or team may win only one prize.
Prize Distribution: Prizes will be distributed on May 23, 2025, directly to the wallet associated with the published Wearable in the Marketplace.*
Promotional Rights: By entering, participants grant the Decentraland Foundation the right to feature images of submitted Wearables in marketing and social media campaigns.
