Gemma A. Williams, the ambassador of MVFW Asia this year, will be hosting a panel discussion on the topic of Fashion Opera: Aesthetics In The Metaverse The panel will feature composer Alastair White, Simon Mitchell co-founder of Sybarite, and editor Lillian He from Tong, who will be exploring the intersection of fashion, architecture and performance in the digital world. The session, supported by marketing agency Tong, promises to be an insightful and thought-provoking conversation, with a maximum duration of 40 minutes. This is followed by "Capital" - the debut of fashion-opera in the metaverse. Fashion-opera is a new discipline proposed by Alastair White and Gemma under the banner of UU Studios. It has been described as “a whole exciting new genre of art” (BBC RADIO 3) “groundbreaking” (Classical Music Magazine), “perfect” (Vogue Italia) and “genuinely original” (TEMPO). #CAPITAL is a tale of dematerialization and symbolism: from the first time someone exchanged a token for an object, or a symbol — a word — for a being in the world — all the way through gold bars and bank notes, or the virtual reality of art — to Web3, avatars and Dragon City itself. It is the story of becoming something else — where everything is always possible. This performance features wearable designs from LVMH Prize nominated Chinese brand CHENPENG which recently debuted on the Paris Fashion Week schedule. It takes place at the #HouseOfSynergos, a bespoke virtual opera house created by Sybarite in a world first, and is performed by Kelly Poukens, with dance by Zara Sands.
