## [BASHIR KHATSUK](https://twitter.com/zhestrec) ### 137, -2 // October 27 ### 7-8pm UTC // realm = dg Bashir Khatsuk is a musician performing with traditional Adyghe music, a former member of Khegeudzh gup, Jrpjej and several projects from Nalchik. Khatsuk took the songs of Bekmurza Pachev, a Kabardian poet who wrote at the intersection of oral song and literary traditions. Basically, these are cries and lamentations, characteristic of the late Adyghe folklore. According to the canon, these songs are performed in chorus - a soloist plus an undertone. Bashir rethought everything for solo performance: he replaced the undertone with a cello, and uses drums instead of traditional rattles.
