This is a live shared experience, made for you to watch movies with friends, discover thoughtful documentaries, and share reactions in real time through live text chat—all while enjoying the feeling of being in a cinema with others. Through Alice Austen, Hannah Höch, and Nicole Eisenman, THE FEMALE CLOSET becomes a powerful Pride screening about visibility, erasure, art, and the politics of being seen. June 24 — THE GRACE LEE PROJECT 68 minutes | English What happens when one name becomes a stereotype? In this witty and searching documentary, filmmaker Grace Lee investigates the many women who share her name, using humor and curiosity to challenge assumptions about Asian American identity, individuality, and the pressure to be “nice.” July 1 — RECONSTRUCTION 90 minutes | English, Romanian, French, Hebrew Filmmaker Irene Lusztig returns to Romania to uncover the truth behind her grandmother’s role in a notorious 1959 bank robbery and the strange propaganda film that followed. Part family investigation, part political history, RECONSTRUCTION is a gripping look at memory, mythmaking, and the stories governments and families bury. July 8 — PEOPLE ARE THE SKY 94 minutes | English and Korean Korean American filmmaker Dai Sil Kim-Gibson returns to her birthplace in North Korea for the first time in nearly 70 years, creating an intimate and unprecedented reflection on home, division, and national memory. Personal, political, and visually striking, PEOPLE ARE THE SKY complicates easy narratives about a country often seen only from the outside. July 15 — I, DOLL 57 minutes | English Funny, sharp, and surprisingly revealing, I, DOLL uses the Barbie phenomenon to unpack consumer culture, gender, fantasy, and plastic perfection. Ending the season with pop-cultural bite, the film asks why six ounces of plastic became one of the most powerful icons in American life. See you there!
