As we enter the final quarter of 2018, the team here at Decentraland is wrapping up last quarter’s larger projects and iterative improvements. We’ve got several updates to share with you on this front covering our Marketplace, the LAND smart contract, and the SDK and CLI.

Updates in the Marketplace

We’ve just released versions 0.13.2 and 0.13.3 of the Marketplace, which included multiple fixes for small bugs in the UX/frontend experience, and backend, of the Marketplace.

You can see a complete list of these patches and changes here, but the majority of these small fixes relate to localization and translation support, the display of parcel details, and some issues with LAND transactions that we found after the initial release of Estates. We also incorporated some enhancements based on feedback collected after the first few days of usage of Estate. Check out our release notes for details.

LAND Estates & Mortgages

After the first release of LAND Estates, we added Estates to the CLI so you can deploy your scenes directly to Estates created through the Marketplace.

We’ve also been working on version 2.0 of our Marketplace smart contract which will allow the buying and selling of Estates. We have just finished all of the user interaction flows and we are testing them extensively on Testnet. We have also finished the auditing process of the new Marketplace contract with the team over at Level-K and we are in the process of incorporating their feedback.

Finally, our dApps team is testing out the LAND Mortgage feature on the Ethereum MainNet. This is a complex component of the Marketplace, so we don’t plan to release it until we’ve completed a thorough testing and auditing phase.

In early September, we launched version 4.1.0 of the SDK, which provided developers with a range of performance improvements in static scenes, new lighting configurations in scene previews, and inclusive parcel limits. Check out all of the detailed release notes for 4.1.0 here!

The latest minor update released this week, version 4.1.1, includes a few more bug fixes and performance improvements. Check out the release notes for the full run-down.

We also deployed version 1.3.0 of the CLI last month, which fixed some minor bugs, added a new interface for scene deployment, Ledger hard wallet support, and the ability to upload scenes to services like For more details, check out the release notes.

The most recent 1.4.0 release of the CLI further simplifies the process of building Decentraland scenes. It also includes new support for deploying Estates comprising multiple parcels.

The Decentraland Developer Experience

Our current focus is improving the developer experience (DX) of the SDK. We’re working on adding NFT integration so that you can use other NFTs in your Decentraland scenes, and we are building a new communications server into the Decentraland Client.

If you have any suggestions or feedback about your experience with the SDK, don’t hesitate to reach out to us in our #support_sdk channel on Discord!

That’s all for now! Be sure to stay tuned for our next technical project update.
