It has been two weeks since the last DAO Committee report. During those two weeks, three points of interest have been added, one name has been banned, three grant requests have been approved, and six polls have passed and are now either in-progress or pending action.

Point of Interests

Since July 16th, the following points of interest have been added to Decentraland’s map:

Update the Decentraland Terms of Use and Content Policy

Yes 100% (10,696,405 VP) No 0% (0 VP)

In response to the recent release of the Wearables Editor Decentraland’s Terms of Use and Content Policy has been updated. Certain adjustments have been made to present the driving philosophy of Decentraland in clearer and simpler language.

Should Voter Power Delegation be activated in Decentraland’s Snapshot Space?

For 92% (1,650,735 VP) Against 8% (148,914 VP)

Users can now delegate their voting power to any address. This functionality provides great benefits to users holding assets in cold wallets and groups storing their assets in smart contracts. Users can delegate their voting power via Snapshot’s UI. To see your voting power and delegations check out the governance platform.

Should NAME owners be granted proportional DAO rights?

Yes 97% (1,626,596 VP) No 3% (51,297 VP)

NAME owners now receive 100 VP per name. To see your voting power check out the governance platform.

Pending

Should we convert 1/5th of the DAO’s MANA to stablecoin to diversify and stabilize the treasury?

Yes 99% (5,653,269 VP) No 1% (81,143 VP)

The DAO Committee talked with different OTCs and exchanges. We received a quote to convert 6,115,643 MANA to equal proportions of USDT, USDC, and DAI with a small fee of 0.75%.

The DAO Committee also analyzed descentalized alternatives like using DEXs protocols or creating a token sale contract with a fixed slippage. Using a DEX will have a big impact on the market price and impact negatively on the overall liquidity. Using a smart contract requires development and auditing work before moving forward.

Wearables Request - Hand slot for watches, gloves, nail polish

Yes 100% (473,355 VP) No 0% (0 VP)

The Decentraland Foundation has plans to increase the number of wearable categories, but priority has not yet been set for a “hands” category. This request has been proposed in the past and addressed in DAO Report #0002.

Wearables Request — Allow Creators to Publish New Items to an Existing Collection.

Yes 91% (659,297 VP) No 9% (68,788 VP)

Supporting the addition of new items within existing collections would require development effort to modify the existing wearables smart contracts. Aside from this development time, however, there’s no reason why this change can’t be implemented, as the addition of new items would not impact the scarcity or value of already published items.

The DAO Committee recommends a more detailed definition or discussion of how exactly the collection limits should be changed. For example, should there be any limitations to how many items each collection can support? Should there be limitations on which and how many rarities can be added? The Committee recommends that these questions be pursued within the forum.

Ban address 0x2d9…b2aadf from chat and voice

Yes 97% (469,639 VP) No 3% (16,001 VP)

An API has been added to make it easier to ban addresses from voice and text chat as a result of future DAO proposals, and the requested address has been banned for a period of six months.
