Decentraland Pride returns for its fifth annual celebration from Monday, June 15 to Tuesday, June 30, bringing two weeks of LGBTQ+ celebration, creativity, and community to Genesis Plaza and beyond.
Decentraland first celebrated Pride on June 11, 2021, with a community parade featuring virtual carnival floats and stilt walkers. What began as a single event has grown into an annual tradition and an important part of the Decentraland calendar.
For many members of the Decentraland community, Pride is more than a celebration. Decentraland is home to people from more than 150 countries, and not everyone has the opportunity to celebrate Pride openly in their local communities. Whether due to political restrictions, cultural attitudes, or personal circumstances, many LGBTQ+ people around the world have limited access to Pride events. Decentraland offers a free and accessible space where anyone can participate, connect with others, and celebrate openly.
The celebration begins on Monday, June 15, when Genesis Plaza transforms with a special Pride theme, filling Decentraland's central gathering place with rainbow decorations and celebrations. Throughout the fortnight, visitors can enjoy Pride-themed events, special screenings, music, and shared moments of connection organized by both the Decentraland Foundation and community members.

One of the highlights of this year's program is the Decentraland Pride Party on Thursday, June 18 from 8pm to 10pm UTC.
Featuring two special guest DJs from the Decentraland community, the event invites everyone to wear their brightest rainbow looks, show their Pride colours, and gather for an evening of music, dancing, and celebration.

Pride at Decentraland Theatre
The first week of Pride also includes two special screenings at the Decentraland Theatre.
Watch Party Wednesday: Pride Edition June 17 | 2pm UTC & 8pm UTC The Female Closet
Part of Decentraland's ongoing Watch Party Wednesday documentary series, The Female Closet is a provocative film by Barbara Hammer examining how lesbian artists have often been hidden, softened, or misread by the museums and critics who present their work.
Through the stories of artists including Alice Austen, Hannah Höch, and Nicole Eisenman, the documentary explores visibility, erasure, art, and the politics of being seen. 📅 Add to Calendar

Cult Horror Club: Pride Edition
June 19 | 5am UTC, 2pm UTC & 8pm UTC Night Tide (1961)
The latest installment of Decentraland's new Cult Horror Club series, Night Tide follows a young sailor who falls for Mora, a mysterious woman who performs as a mermaid and may believe she is dangerous.
This classic film was chosen for Pride because it was written and directed by Curtis Harrington, a gay filmmaker recognized as one of the important early figures in queer cinema. The screening celebrates both cult film history and the contributions LGBTQ+ creators have made to genre filmmaking. 📅 Add to Calendar
