Community Highlight: doWow’s Interactive Billboards

By Decentraland, , in Community Highlights

Decentraland partner, doWow.tv is a Web3-ready content broadcasting tool that bridges physical and virtual environments. doWow software allows anyone to create, launch, run, and curate interactive broadcasts to any dimension, from webpages to metaverse platforms like Decentraland. Virtual experiences can be created in a matter of seconds without requiring any coding expertise to manage, broadcast, and display online content of any kind. You may have seen their interactive billboards in Decentraland at DCLMVMF22 and MVFW23. More than just displaying static imagery, doWow’s billboards streamed interactive advertising & branded content,  allowed event-goers to jump from one event location to another, buy Wearables from Decentraland’s Marketplace, and even participate in social media contests.

doWow’s Decentraland debut took place during last year’s Metaverse Music Festival with 12+ interactive billboards showcasing Decentraland‘s community and artist’s content. The billboards came in different sizes and shapes, broadcasting high-quality videos with no lag or freezing. Each hosted scheduled and live mixed media content that was interactive and moderated in real-time. The best part was that the billboards had the functionality of allowing festival attendees to jump from one stage to another without missing a performance.

Following a well-received premiere at the music festival, doWow’s interactive billboards were embedded at this year’s Metaverse Fashion Week in several locations, including NEO Plaza, showcasing designers’ work, the official agenda, Wearables, and a Unilever brand campaign to much success.

Again the billboards served as teleportation portals to transport attendees to runway shows, panels, and other events that were part of the MVFW23 agenda. They also took this feature a step further, successfully testing their open metaverse concept, by teleporting visitors to the Ozone Metaverse which was also hosting MVFW23 content.

At an event like MVFW23, the billboard’s function of allowing viewers to browse through and purchase Wearables was incredibly useful. This time the billboards were also used for an interactive social media, fashion selfie contest. Attendees had the chance to see themselves on the doWow billboards by simply posting a selfie with the MVFW23 hashtag on Twitter. It seems their functionality is only limited by a user’s imagination!
