Tonight we kick off the quarter finals of The Moonshot World Cup, here is a quick recap of the tournament so far:

Opening Match

After a flamboyant opening ceremony the two hosts Decentraland and Vegas City played a friendly to get us underway. Vegas came out narrow winners in a closely fought match.

Groups A and B

The first night of real action saw the crowds turn out to watch Matic and OpenSea cruise through Groups A and B respectively.

Group C

Group C on the Saturday night was always going to be tough competition but DCL Core on home soil smashed the competition and are looking like the team to beat on the way to the finals.

Group D

Group D was a closely fought contest with Super Rare just squeezing through with a last minute goal after DCL Plazas defensive strategy almost paid off.

Group E

Favourites to win the tournament Decentraland advance from Group E but not without a hard fought battle with Sorare for the top spot. A last minute goal from Tak won the game and put him in clear contention for the golden boot.

Group F

Decentral Games with their star signing Red made light work of Group F and Cent just pipped The Neighbourhood project to progress from Group F.

Group G

Group G saw strategy and focused teamwork pay off and take Polygonal Mind through to the knockout stages.

Ticker tape, goals, celebrations, free football shirt feeding frenzy… and that was just round one.
