Marketplace Credits: Earn Weekly Rewards To Power Up Your Look

Have you been eyeing up a new look or dreaming of fresh kicks for your next party fit? You’re in luck! A new feature is coming to Decentraland that lets you pick up Marketplace items for free, while still supporting creators. Starting May 19, you’ll be able to earn Marketplace Credits, a new rewards feature that gives you spending power to personalize your avatar, simply by jumping in and engaging in-world.

This initial launch will be a limited, 8-week beta run, testing the weekly rewards program until July 13 (or sooner, depending on demand), and it’s one of the first sparks in a larger $2M USD plan from the Foundation to ignite the creator-driven flywheel powering Decentraland’s future.

What Are Marketplace Credits?
Marketplace Credits are a new, non-transferable reward designed to acknowledge community engagement and help you personalize your avatar by purchasing Wearables and Emotes in the Decentraland Marketplace. Here’s what you need to know about how they work:
Each Marketplace Credit is worth 1 MANA in purchasing power.
They can only be used for primary sales of Polygon Wearables and Emotes priced at 1 MANA or more.
They can be used alone or in combination with other payment methods to complete a larger purchase.
They’re not actual MANA and cannot be redeemed, traded, or used outside the Marketplace.
They have an expiration date and must be used within the 2 weeks following the beta run’s close.
In this first beta run of the program, you can earn up to 8 Credits per week by completing a set of simple weekly goals (such as logging in and attending events, among other tasks). That means that over the course of this 8-week trial, you could earn up to 64 Credits—just by participating!

How to Earn and Claim Marketplace Credits
When the beta launches, you’ll see a Marketplace Credit icon in the sidebar menu in the Explorer. That’s where you can track goal progress, claim Credits, and head straight to the Marketplace.

Step 1: Sign Up
To start earning Credits, just confirm your email to activate the rewards program, which will ensure you get updates and reminders. (Note: You can manage your notification preferences from the Account Settings at any time.)
Step 2: Complete Your Goals
Each week, you’ll work through the same set of goals. Complete them at your own pace and watch your progress bar fill up as you earn Credits.
Don’t forget: the week resets every Sunday at 23:59 UTC.
Step 3: Claim Earned Credits
Once you’ve completed a goal, a CAPTCHA will appear. Solve it and watch your Credits stack up!
Here are some important details to keep in mind:
Weekly cycle: Each week begins at 00:00 UTC on Monday and ends at 23:59 UTC on Sunday.
Weekly goals: You’ll have the same set of simple goals to complete each week. Finish all of them to earn the full 8 Credits.
Claiming Credits: Once a goal is completed, you'll get a notification—but you'll still need to claim your Credits manually in the rewards interface. Make sure to do this before the weekly cycle resets, or they’ll disappear.
Credit expiration: Any unused Credits from this beta run will expire on July 27 at 23:59 UTC. Be sure to use them while they’re still valid!
How to Spend Credits in the Marketplace
Browse items with the ‘Get with Credits’ filter turned on. You can find it under ‘Special Filters’ in the Marketplace menu. Use it to see only eligible Wearables and Emotes (Polygon items, ≥ 1 MANA).
unnamed (1) When viewing an item that you want to purchase, toggle on ‘Get with Credits’. If you have enough Credits, the price will change to 0. If not, the price will update to show how much MANA is still needed to complete the purchase.

Marketplace Credits are being rolled out with care as a lightweight beta program—funded by the Foundation—to see how small, consistent rewards can encourage meaningful participation, support creators, and make digital identity more accessible to everyone. By limiting Credits to a trial window and primary sales only, the program avoids disrupting Marketplace dynamics or flooding the economy. It’s a way to reward regulars without making anything feel extractive.
After July 13, there’ll be a pause and a chance to review how things went. Your feedback will help shape what comes next.
