Get Involved in Metaverse Pride ‘23—Enter the Wearable Contest or Design a Float for the Parade!
Pride is returning to Decentraland for a 3rd year, organized in collaboration with community studios Polygonal Mind and Vegas City. Take action now to add your fabulous creations to the 3-day festivities!
Metaverse Pride is back for 2023 and will take place from June 27-29, celebrating diversity and inclusivity in the metaverse. Organized in collaboration with DCL community studios Polygonal Mind and Vegas City, the 3 day event will feature immersive experiences, games, virtual art installations, live musical performances, and educational content intentionally crafted for the LGBTQIA+ community and allies.
Inspired by Burning Man, the festival area for Metaverse Pride 2023 will resemble an oasis in the desert where visitors’ passage will be marked by a whimsical trail of rainbow footprints. The venue’s scene will also change as more people participate in the event, representing the importance of supporting others. Not to be missed, the event’s 24/7 Pride Parade will also return as a main attraction, populated with delightfully flamboyant floats designed by brands and community creators alike—anyone is eligible to enter a float by June 8!

Before it’s time to partake in the Pride festivities later this month, there are lots of ways you can get involved and contribute to Metaverse Pride. If your design is ready by June 8, you can submit your very own Pride float to the event’s ever-revolving parade or, if Wearable creation is more your style, you can enter the Decentraland Foundation’s Pride Wearable contest—more on these two below.
You can also organize your own events to accompany the official festivities. Whether it be a party, fashion show, panel talk, or musical performance, everyone is welcome to contribute to the Decentraland-wide celebration of Pride. Just remember to properly tag your event listings! As with previous tentpole Decentraland events, whether you’re organizing satellite events or creating Wearables & Emotes for Metaverse Pride, make sure to add the tag #Pride23 to your events or Marketplace Items to get them featured in the special Metaverse Pride tabs that will appear on both Decentraland’s Marketplace and Event page.

#Design a float for the Metaverse Pride parade
This year, Vegas City will be implementing the floats of the famous Metaverse Pride Parade and they’re inviting everyone to join in showing their support for the LGBTQIA+ community and diversity and inclusivity in the metaverse with their very own float!
Due to the time necessary to organize and program the parade, you’ll have to move quickly if you’re to submit your float to Vegas City by the deadline of June 8. But it will surely be worth it when you see your own work touring the festival area during the 3 days of Metaverse Pride!
The cost to implement a float into the parade is $1000 USD, payable to Vegas City. However, the fee will be waived for Decentraland community creators and Pride-related NGOs. If, as a community creator, you are designing a float for a client, such as a private brand, make sure to inform them of the implementation cost as the fee will not be waived. You can find the specific specs the floats must meet and all submission details here.
#Enter the Wearables Contest
To help get those creative sparks flying, the Decentraland Foundation has organized a Pride Wearables contest ahead of the big event. The contest is open to everyone and will run from today, June 1 to June 19. Think of what would make a totally, mind-blowing Pride outfit, create it, publish it in Decentraland’s Marketplace, and submit your Wearable’s Marketplace link in the contest!
Remember, this is the metaverse so you can really let your imagination run free—your Wearable doesn’t even need to conform to traditional clothing templates! Create Wearables that show off the LGBTQIA+ community’s Pride and celebrate diversity and inclusivity in the metaverse in the most fabulously fun and creative way.
#How to submit
After you’ve published your Wearable, enter its Marketplace link into the contest using the official form: https://forms.gle/Yk377sxGRdGW42Ri8

Don’t forget to add the tag #Pride23 to your Wearable to also get it featured in the special Metaverse Pride tab of the Marketplace!
